Just days after agreeting on terms with Admiral Sportwetten on a new three-year major sponsorship deal, the Rhein-Neckar Löwen signed three of their cornerstones to extended contracts. First of all, Danish head coach Nikolaj Jacobsen will remain with the league-leading lions until the summer of 2020. The former Bundesliga player is on his second season with the club and still on track to win the domestic double. Either titel, the league championship or the cup, would be the first national silverware for the Löwen.

Prior to the game against Lemgo the club also announced new deals with Andy Schmid and Mads Mensah Larsen. Both will stay with the team until the end of the 2019/20 season as well. Especially the Swiss playmaker, who celebrated his new contract scoring an impressive 15 goals. He now has scored 141/27 times during this campaign, while Mensah Larsen (93/1) will break the 100-goal mark within the next weeks.
