The Balkan encounter is the bronze game of the Final4, with two disappointed teams which did not make it to the final.
Vardar took a flying start, leading 5-1 and 6-2 after ten minutes, but after some adjustments from Dragan Adzic team of Buducnost pulled themselves together and made a comeback. Neagu, Petrovic and Mehmedovic did what they are best in and equalized 8-8. Vardar’s play was directed by Khmyrova, Penezic scored more in five minutes than during the whole semifinal game yesterday, Radicevic ran in fastbreaks goals and Vardar was in slight lead 11-9, 13-12 in the last minutes of the first half, but Raicevic and Cvijic managed to turn the result with two scorings.

Penezic started the second half with two crackers, 16 – 16. Buducnost was taken the match seriously, and took the lead 18-21, with four Bulatovic-goals. Lazovic, Damnjanovic and Radicevic scored and Vardar came back, 22-22 after 46 minutes.
Neagu, Jaukovic and Bulatovic were still dangerous,but Vardar kept the advantage 29-28, one minute to go and Khmyrova netted behind Marta Zdderic the goal of victory for her team and the third bronze in the EHF Women Final4.
