In a very exciting match on Saturday the VfL Gummersbach was able to hold off visiting Balingen-Weilstetten 26-24 (14-12) as the HBW will have to wait a bit more to celebrate another year in the first league. Gummersbach, meanwhile, moved closer to finish the campaign in the first half of the table and currently sits just two points behind fifth place. Julius Kühn scored an impressive nine goals, while Olivier Nyokas added the same amount of goals for the guests. Balingen sits five points clear of 15th-placed ThSV Eisenach, seven of TuS N-Lübbecke. Salvation shouldn’t be an issue, while Gummersbach could still make it to Europe.
