EHF EURO 2016 in Sweden: sixteen teams are ready

After finishing the qualifictaion stage last weekend, European women national teams, sixteen of them are ready for the EURO 2016 organized in Sweden in December 2016. Sweden is qualified as host.

Group 1:  Norway and Romania has qualified without any problems, surprisingly, Belarus has produced a victory against Romania in Romania, 20 -23, last ranked  was Lithuania,

Group 2: Serbia won this group, and Czech Republic is also ready for a new European championship. Ukraine and Italy had no many chances against the first two ranked teams.

Group 3: This was a fight between Netherlands and Spain , to get the first plae of the group which gives as we know better seeding before the draw. Each of the two teams managed to win against the other once, but with a better goal difference Dutch girls won the group. Austria has finished third, Bulgaria fourth without points.

Group 4: Balcanic setup with Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia and FYR Macedonia. This is the group which gives three qualified teams: Montenegro and Croatia was expected to make it to the EURO, but Slovenia managed to clinch the best third place and the last berth to the EURO.

Group 5: Hungary and Poland took the spots in this order, Slovakia and Finland did not make ot to the EURO.

Group 6: Russia was invincible in this qualification group, and has qualified in front of Denmark, Turkey and Portugal.

Group 7: France managed also to leave this group with six victories, Germany took the second berth. Iceland and Switzerland out.
