According to media sources, one of the biggest names in the international handball, Bojana Popovic is about to make a comeback for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The Montenegrin national team is in trouble on the left back position as captain Marija Jovanovic has been struggling with a knee injury since early 2016, while Djurdjina Jaukovic is a brilliant talent but too young to solve the position during the whole competition. If Jovanovic won’t be ready to play in Rio de Janeiro, the 36-year-old, six-time Champions League-winner Bojana Popovic could help Montenegro out. One of the best shooters of all time has already started the preparation to be fit for the Olympic Games. Popovic retired from handball after winning the Champions League with Buducnost in 2012 and collecting a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Since then, she gave birth to two children but has stayed close to handball, working as a sports director at Buducnost in Podgorica.
