Group A: Buducnost, Metz, Thüringer HC, Glasseverket

In the Moraca Hall from Podgorica, Buducnost started their Champions League matches against Metz Handball, the French champion. As a surprise for many, several players are not  to find on the match line before the match: C.Neagu, D.Cvijic, S.Lazovic and B.Pavicevic are sitting on the stands, they are probably injured as any exact information was not given related to these players earlier this week.

Without these players, Buducnost will surely face some difficult time in the game against Metz – some could believe and yes we could watch a balanced encounter in the first half, where Metz felt that today they are having a real chance against hosts.

Bulatovic, Achruk, Jaukovic were playing efficiently in the attack for Adzic’s team, the goalkeeper was the Brazilian -Spaniard  Zoqby de Paula. For Metz Glauser is having an excellent day in the goal and the strength of the team is given that in the attack the scorings are shared among several players like Gros, Smits, Pop-Lazic, Horacek or Luciano. After a lot of fight and sweat, the first thirty minutes ended 11 – 10.

In the second half Buducnost took over he control of the game and under the leadership of K.Bulatovic and goalkeeper Zoqby de Paula increased the difference during the whole second half, 15 – 11, 16 – 12, 19 – 15, 20 – 16. Goals were scored mostly by Bulatovic, Ramusovic and Irman for the hosts, and  Flippes, Horacek, Luciano for Metz. In the dying minutes of  the game Metz came closer, but they never managed to reduce the difference or equalize.

Final result: 21 – 19
