Defending champions CSM Bucuresti started their international campaign with a big victory against Rostov-Don in the first round, but their second round match was not as successful as the first. The Romanian champions were leading at halftime, but at the end they lost in Denmark against FC Midtjylland. The Danish silver medalists, led by Sabine Englert, proved once again they are an opponent that can be dangerous for any time in the biggest competition of European club handball.
