In group A Metz met German champions from THC. The guests took their first points in the first round against Norwegian debutant, meanwhile Metz lost in a close encounter in Moraca Hall from Podgorica.

In Metz the match started with equal results 3-3, 4-4, the two teams made a close game, with good goalkeeper performances, many mistakes and turnovers. Metz finished the first thirty minutes with one goal advantage, 11 – 10.
