Michael Wiederer was elected new EHF President on Thursday’s EHF Congress. The 60-year-old Austrian has been the Secretary General of the European Handball Federation since 1992 and he will become the 4th president of the federation. Wiederer will take Jean Brihault’s place on the top of European handball: the 69-year-old Brihault was in charge since 2012 but couldn’t compete for the position for another 4 years because of the age limitation regarding the person of the EHF President. Wiederer was the only nominee for the position.
