After losing the quarterfinals at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the Swedish girls want to reach the podium on home court. The team of IK Sävehof’s head coach Henrik Signell, led by Isabelle Gulldén finished 3rd in the last edition of EHF EURO in Hungary and Croatia, and the top 4 is the minimum they want to reach in front of their home crowd. Exactly ten years ago they already hosted the EURO, then they missed the medal, finishing 6th. The Scandinavians will start their EURO campaign in the “group of S teams” against Spain on Sunday, their other opponents in Group A are Serbia and Slovenia.
