Romania looking for a new face with Ambros Martín

Romania is a constant partcipant of last years EURO-s and World Championships, they managed to win bronze medals in Denmark one year ago. Their previosu medal came from the EURO 2010, organized also in Denmark. After a disappointing Olympic tournament Romanian federation has decided to change the direction, and after Tomas Ryde had resigned due to personal issues another big profile was contracted, noone else than Spanish Ambros Martín, who is the head coach of Győr as well. Martin will work as Romanian head coach until the next Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Aurelia Bradeanu retired from her national team career, right before the EURO, in one of the preparation games at Carpati Cup against Hungary. In this game Romania was defeated by Hungary.

Cristina Neagu has an ankle injury, which is expected to heal until the EURO starts, Elisei and Tanasie are both injured, so many young and unexperienced players will get the chance in Sweden.

Romania will start the competition in Group D-Helsingborg aainst teams like Russia, Norway and Croatia.
