Jan Basny satisfied, Kim Rasmussen tried to find the way

Kim Rasmussen (HUN) –  head coach

About the game

“It was very clear to see that this was a new team, too many new players for a championship. And they were nervous.”

About  what he said to his team in the half-time break:

“I tried to make them loosen up, tried to release some of the potential I know we have, but then we got quickly behind again. We were struggling and not attacking directly enough towards the goal. It was a little too much sideways.”

“This is my responsability on first hand. I never found a way to play in this game, we tried a lot”

Anita Görbicz (HUN)  –  playmaker

“I don’t really know what happened, we were stressed, made many mistakes and could not focus enough in the key periods of the game.  We prepared properly, despite this we could not find the way in attack. We have to improve ourselves mentally and I expect much more from myself too. Today I did not make a good match.”

Jana Knedlikova (CZE) – right wing

About her teams victory

“We had a really strong defence, more than in other games we have played, and of course Hungary made a lot of mistakes. That was the key of this unexpected victory, Of course we are really glad.”

Jan Basny (CZE) –  head coach

“I am glad that we managed to win this game and the two points, but the qualification to the Main Round will not be decided only of this result. In my opinion, Hungary is able to win the next two games.”
