In Group C in Malmö the day’s first match was played between Montenegro, which came after a loss against Denmark, and Czech Republic with an impressive victory against Hungary. Montenegro has a young team without star players, Czech Republic has a team without long tradition on international level – this promised an interesting game.
Montenegro was in a slight advantage during all the first half but Czechs managed to level the game in the dying minutes and Montenegro had only a direct free throw after the clock has stopped. Djurdina Jaukovic took the ball and put it in the top corner of the goal. Mehmedovic, Jaukovic and Lazovic were the leaders for Montenegro, as Raicevic did not playe in this match. First half: 12 – 13.
In the second half we could see the same scenario, Montenegrin lead, Czechian were kept in the game by Knedlikova and their goalkeepers. Czech Republic was very close to a new victory or to collect at least one point here, as half minute before the final whistle Montenegro was two man down and they had the ball, at 23-24, but did not manage to score and Adzic’s girls ran with the victory.
