Netherlands wants that gold medal

Yvette Broch (NED)- line player

” The semifinal was a really tough game, and I am happy that we won and we are in a final again. Our team spirit and focus helped us today to be able to win.

“We knew what kind of defence the opponent plays and we tried to keep it down with our seven against six play. In the second half we managed to realise everything we agreed on before, our goalkeeper took important balls and we could play our fast attack.

“We are a well-trained team, we have a long tournament behind us, so we are maybe little tired, but we help each other always and our strength is our strong collective.

“The final will be very tough, but this time we want to win the gold medal.”

Helle Thomsen (NED) – head coach

“I am very happy that we made it to the final, before the EURO I was not sure if we are already on that level to reach so high, but my team improved during the tournament and today they followed the tactics and our plan worked out well.

” I know the Danish team and Klavs, and we find the right solution against their aggressive defence, and we had always the right answers when they made some tactical changes during the game.

” We won this game due to our defence and the goalkeeper who had a great cooperation with it. At the same time we needed to use our offensive speed .

“In the final, we will have a hard time, but we plan to give a hard fight to our opponent. Norway plays here as on homecourt, with many thousands of Norwegians on the stands, but if we are here so want that gold.”
