In the beginning of December 2016, Morten Soubak announced in a TV interview that he will not be coaching the Brazilian women’s national team any more: the Four Nations Tournament was his last duty on the Brazilian bench. According to Brazilian and Angolan sources, the Danish coach will start working in Angola as he has received an offer from the Angolan Handball Federation (FAANG). The technical director of FAANG didn’t confirm the arrival of Morten Soubak to the Angolan National Team yet but implied that Soubak will work at Angolan club “1º de Agosto”.
Morten Soubak spent 8 years at the steering wheel of Brazil and brought the South American country’s most successful years in handball: under his command, the Brazilian girls conquered the world, winning the world championship in Serbia in 2013. His successor is not known yet.
