
In the group I. of the Main Round in women’s Champions League the first match was played in Metz, when Metz Handball hosted Hungarians from FTC Rail-Cargo Hungaria.
After a first half where hosts was in lead in most of the time with 2-3 goals, FTC managed to close the gap and go to the break with only minus one, 14-13. In the second half the Hungarians showed a better performance and mostly thanked their goalkeeper Blanka Bíró, who had a saving percentage over 50 % in this match, managed to take the control of the game and turn over the result, leading through the second half and winning the match with three goals, 25 – 28.
