CSM Bucuresti seems to be back on the right track-victory against Esbjerg

In the third round of the Main Round the title holders of the Champions League hosted Team Esbjerg in Bucuresti. The team of head coach Aurelian Rosca had a difficult way through the group phase and reached the Main Round from the last  possible position of the group. They had gone trough a  head coach change as well in that period and the new coach and the team needed time to be able to show the results of their work together.

In the first round of the Main Round they lost a point on home court against Larvik, but they managed to win in Ljubljana and now against Esbjerg.

It was clear victory from the Romanian side, as Jelena Grubisic had a good performance in the goal and in the fastbreaks of her team. Team Esbjerg had problems with injuries as well, and after  CSM had a

Team Esbjerg had problems with injuries as well (Møller and Idøhn are injured, Polman is aout with pregnancy), and after  CSM had a four goal advantage in the first half, 17-13, in the second one the hosts managed to increase their lead, finishing the task with an eight-goal victory.

CSM Bucuresti had real leader in Gnosnisane Niombla, Carmen Martin and Jelena Grubisic as Team Esbjerg had as top scorer Swedish Jenny Alm.

Final result

CSM Bucuresti –  Team Esbjerg 33 –  25 (17 – 13)

Topscorers: Carmen Martin (CSM) 6 goals and Jenny Alm (Team Esbjerg) 7 goals
