In the group I of the Main Round the first match was played on Saturday, last weekend between Metz Handball and Astrachanochka from Russia. The Russian team has no points in the Main Round and they seem to be team whicg is here only fro gaining experience and give chance to the young Russian talents to play in CL.

Metz Handball led by Ana Gros and Laura Glauser defeated clearly the Russian side, without questions. After the first half the result was 17 – 10, and Metz did not think to stop in the second part either, running over Astrahanocha and crushing them with a record victory of 37 – 18.

Metz Handball – Astrahanochka 37 – 18 (17 – 13)

Topscorers: Helene Sajka (Metz) 7 goals and Karina Sabirova (Astrahanochka) 5 goals
