First victory for Astrachanochka in the Main Round as THC failed

Russian champion Astrakhanochka and German champion Thüringer HC are currently on the last two positions of the Group I, in the Main Round, with no chances to qualify to the next stage – the quarter-finals.

As expected should THC win this encounter, but the German team seemed to give up after being exhausted by travelling a whole day  and the hosts grabbed the opportunity to take their first victory in the Main Round.

Astrachanochka –  THC 26 – 24 (17 – 12)

Astrachanochka: Sabirova 13, Chigirinova 3, Kozhokar 3, Postnova 3, Shaposhnikova 2, Levsha 1, Shichkina 1

THC: Engel 8, Luzumova 4, Niederwieser 4, Auilar 2, Houette 2, Jakubisova 1, Kiedrowski 1, Pintea 1
