Vardar crushed in Metz

The two teams  had a close race until 13.minute, when the result was 8 – 8, but after that point Metz took the game n their own hands and thanked to a good goalkeeper performance and a fantastic Ana Gros and Xenia Smits in attack. Vardar seemed to be without reply to Metz’s play, the Macedonian team made many mistakes and the first half ended 19-16.

In the second half everybody could think that the Macedonian powerhouse will manage to comeback and level the game, but Metz had other  thoughts obviously and showed a precise, fast and overwhelming play. French team started hardly, gaving no chance to a confused Vardar. The second half is easy to decribe, Metz ran over Vardar, everything they did worked perfectly out as Vardar failed in every segment of their play. Fourty two goals has Metz scored in this match, so Vardar suffered their second consecutive defeat in Champions League after last weeks against Buducnost.

Final result:

Metz Handball –  Vardar HC 42 – 28 (19 – 16)
