
In the second leg of the quarterfinals, Vardar hosted Fc Midtjylland, after a first match when Macedonian team took a two-goals victory in Ikast. The Danish champion is a dangerous opponent and two goals could be not som big difference for Radicevic and company.
The first half was a close race where guests finished with a one-goal advantage, 11-12 and against all odds, they had real chances to take the victory and the qualification. In the second half FCM scared the hosts, leading first 11-13, then 12-15, with a good goalkeeping by Englert and Stine Jørgensen with many goals. But hosts led by Penezic and Lekic did not give up the fight and when FCM had two players out with two minutes suspensions they managed to equalize and turn the result, 16-15. After this turning point, Vardar was unstoppable and the Danish team could only come closer, reducing the gap sometimes, but the lead and the victory was kept safely by hosts and with 26-24 at the final whistle
