Győr can’t wait to step on court

Győr can’t wait to step on court

Media Call – Aquincum Hotel – Budapest – 05/05/2017

Ambros Martín: We have to forget about the past seven months in the EHF Champions League: all that matters is this weekend. It is not enough to be good or to be better, the teams also have to show that. We have to concentrate on these two days, it doesn’t matter if we were good two weeks ago or a month ago. We are preparing with a completely different mindset than last year: last season, we were playing our best handball in the quarterfinal but couldn’t bring the best out of us in the FINAL4. We have learnt from this and this year, we would like to bring our best to the court in the most important days of the season.

Kari Aalvik Grimsbö: This is my second EHF FINAL4 event. Last year, all this big event was new for me, I didn’t know what to expect. The main difference to last year is that I know what I can expect in an event like a FINAL4 – it isn’t any different from any important game we play with the Norwegian national team. We are feeling really well, everybody is concentrating 100% on the FINAL4. I expect an even match against Buducnost – all the event will be very even with four equally strong teams. Buducnost is a really good team, the defense will be decisive. I am really looking forward to be on the court.

Nora Mörk: Finally we are here! This is why I came to Győr last summer. Last year, I couldn’t be here, but this is the weekend we have been working for all year. I am very excited, in the best meaning of the word and I am completely ready to play. We have to focus on the good defense, especially against the key players of Buducnost. As an opponent, I have played several times in Hungary, but it is crazy to think that all these people will be cheering for me! I can’t even imagine what it feels like, but one thing is sure: I can’t wait to be on the court tomorrow.

Zsuzsanna Tomori: “I expect a tough match with a lot of fouls against Buducnost, but we can’t get into fights, we have to be more clever. It is very important to have a strong defense because their back duo is one of the best shooting duos in the world. If we manage to make good defense against them and Cvijic, then we can run and score fast goals. We want to control the game. The Hungarian fans will help us in the difficult moments as well, we just have to do what we were talking about, not individually but as a team. If we can play what we want, we will have the advantage. Our team is together mentally and almost everybody is healthy, so we hope small things will work out better for us. This is my first FINAL4 and it is a dream coming true, so I hope it will end as I was dreaming it. Everybody is excited like a kid to play so we are hoping for the best.”
