Győr received the champions

After the third Champions League-victory in the club’s history, Győr received the heroes with open arms and a warm heart. More than a thousand fans collected in one of the main squares of the city, despite the late time, the cold weather – and the working day on Monday. While waiting for the bus of the champions to arrive, the happy fans were singing to entertain themselves during the long wait, but their patience paid off when the golden bus of the golden girls arrived to the city.

It was already after midnight when Győri Audi ETO KC arrived back to their city, and the ecstatic fans received them with a huge ovation. They were called to the main stage one by one, together with the staff working for their success day by day. Team captain Anita Görbicz brought the big cup to the stage, and the celebration started. Zsolt Borkai, the mayor of Győr welcomed the champions and praised the players and the staff. The club’s president Csaba Bartha thanked the city and the sponsors for the support, while Anita Görbicz thanked the fans for their enthusiastic support throughout the whole season. During the celebration, Ambros Martín and his son said some Hungarian words to the crowd and the champagne shower kicked off the real celebration. The team was photographed together with the fans collected at Dunakapu square and the night has only started in Győr…
