Champions League participants confirmed

After the EHF Executive Committee meeting, the final list of the participants of the Women’s Champions League 2017/18 was confirmed and published by the European Handball Federation. According to the decision of the EXEC, 14 teams will go directly to the group stage while 8 others will decide the remaining two places in the main draw. Out of the five, three wild card requests were accepted. 11 national champions are already in the group stage, this year, besides the best ranked two nations, Denmark and Hungary, France will have two teams: silver medalist Brest Bretagne was seeded to the main draw. The German and the Norwegian silver medalists will also have the chance to grab a spot in the top 16. The draw of the qualification groups will be held on 29 June at 11:00 in Vienna, while the groups will be drawn on the day after, 30 June in Ljubljana. The Qualification Tournaments will be played between 8 and 10 September, the Group Stage is starting in the first weekend of October (6-8).
