The first milestone of the EHF Champions League 2017/18 was reached: the European Handball Federation drew the groups for the Women’s Champions League Qualification and the hosting right for the Men’s. In the Men’s qualification, there is only one group and the pairings were already set.

Women’s Group 1:
Vipers Kristiansand (NOR)
Podravka Vegeta (CRO)
Kastamonu Belediyesi (TUR)
HC Gomel (BLR)

Semifinal pairings:
Vipers Kristiansand – HC Gomel
Podravka Vegeta – Kastamonu Belediyesi

Women’s Group 2:
Thüringer HC (GER)
Höörs HK H65 (SWE)
Hypo NÖ (AUT)
Atletico Guardes (ESP)

Semifinal pairings:
Thüringer HC – Atletico Guardes
Hypo NÖ – Höörs HK H65

The home right for the qualification tournament was also drawn. According to this, Row 1 (Thüringer HC and Vipers Kristiansand) has the first right to organize the tournaments. If they don’t use their right, the sequence is the following: Row 3, Row 2, Row 4. The Women’s EHF CL qualification tournaments will be played on 9/10 September.

In the Men’s Qualification, the pairings were already made so only the home rights were in question. The first right of hosting belongs ot Alpla Hard. Sporting has the second right, Cocks the third and Tatran Presov is the last choice if neither of the other three can give home to the tournament. The teams will fight for the Group Stage on 2/3 September.

Semifinal pairings:
Sporting CP (POR) – Cocks (FIN)
Tatran Presov (SVK) – Alpla HC Hard (AUT)
