EHF EURO 2018: Polish and Montenegrin victory

In the qualification group 2 for the EHF EURO 2018 Poland, Montenegro, Slovakia and Italy play for the available spots.

In the first match of the round Poland crushed Italy, then Montenegro had to fight hard to be able to keep home the two points against Slovakia.

Results:

Poland –  Italy 40 –  13 (16 –  8)

Goals:

Poland: Lisewska 7, Gryzb 5, Zawistowska 5, Achruk 4, Drabik 4, Kudlacz-Gloc 4, Szarawaga 4, Labuda 2, Michalow 2, Roszak 2, Kobylinska 1

Italy: Rotondo 6, Capellaro 2, Dalla Costa- Del Balzo- Gheorghe-Napoletano-Trombetta 1-1

On home court, Montenegro had a hard time against the Slovakian team led by Dusan Poloz and the team of Dragan Adzic did everything in order to keep the two points home. Without their top players like Katarina Blatovic, Andjela Bulatovic, Jovanka Radicevic or Majda Mehmedovic, Montenegrins showed a compact defense and Alma Hasanic had a fantastic day in the goal.

Montenegro – Slovakia 24 –  23 (14 – 12)

Goals:

Montenegro: Jaukovic 8, Raicevic 7, Malovic 3, Brnovic 2, Pavicevic 2, Ramusovic 2

Slovakia: Rajnohova 4, Habankova-Kucerova-Pastorkova-Rebicoca-Rektorisova 3-3, MInarcikova-Szarkova 2-2
