In the second match of the group C renewed Larvik HK hosted Thüringer HC. Both teams are troubled by a lot of injuries, from Germans Anne Hubbinger is out with a serious ankle and foot injury (6 months) and Macarena Aguilar is also injured. Larvik’s Tine Stange has a broken finger, Thea Mørk had a long recovery period after a shoulder injury, both now she has problems with her Achilles. Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth-Koren announced earlier this week that she is pregnant, expecting her second child. Larvik Hk came to this match without so many experienced players. Only Kristine Breistøl has some Champions League experience, goalkeeper Guro Rundbråten and Emilie Christensen had last seasons group stage played at this level. The rest of the team at Larvik are players which played last season in teams in the second Norwegian league or at weaker teams in the Norwegian League.

In the first half, both teams tried to get read of their Champions League emotions and the race seemed to be close in the starting period of the game. Than THC has begun to show their qualities, even if they had no more than eleven players on the match-list today. Iveta Luzumova and Beate Scheffknecht were unstoppable, Dinah Eckerle kept a good saving level in the German goal and THC took the lead. Larviks players were very nervous, had emotions and nobody had the courage to step up and be the leader of the team. At the end of the first half Rundbråten made some saves which kept Larvik closer to guests, but the first half ended 11-16.

The second half continued as the first one ended, THC was aware of the fact that they have to push here at the beginning if they want to secure the victory because it is quite obvious that these two teams will decide the third. qualifying spot in this group, if something unexpected will not happen with Vardar and FTC. Iveta Luzumova, Lidija Jakubisova made a fantastic second half, THC was in lead during all the time. Larvik had a come back when Emilie Christensen scored four times in a row, Kristine Breistøl showed also her qualities and leftwing also made some scorings. This was not enough, THC won the match 27 – 31.
