In the 5th round of the EHF Champions League, newcomers and Danish champions Nykobing FH travelled to Poland with the goal to earn a place in the Main Round. The Danish team needed a victory to secure the qualification and they didn’t fail. In most of the time, they were in control of the game. At halftime, the lead of the guests was already five goals (10-15). In the second half, a Danish blackout brought the Polish team back into the game and the hopes for the first collected points of Vistal Gdynia were in sight (18-18 after 13-18). However, in the upcoming period, the Polish team was making too many mistakes that were punished by the Danes and a 9-0 run from the guests put an end to the Polish hopes (18-27). Vistal Gdynia didn’t have one more comeback in the pocket so the match ended with a clear, 8-goal Danish victory. NFH will continue the Champions League journey in the Main Round.
