As Polish champions Vistal Gdynia were eliminated before the match between Krim and CSM Bucuresti, the match wasn’t about qualifying for the Main Round – more likely about taking precious points to the next stage. Right in the first moments, CSM showed that they arrived to the Slovenian capital to take both point back to Bucharest (0-3), but after the weak first minutes from the home side, Krim Ljubljana turned to a higher speed and forced CSM to a big fight. It was always the Romanian team that had the lead in the first period, but the home team was always following close behind. At halftime, the difference was only one goal in favor of the guests (16-17). In the beginning of the second half, Krim took the lead for the first time (18-17) but in a blink of an eye, CSM was in front again and kept Krim behind. In the middle 10 minutes of the second half, the Romanians proved why they can be called one of the main favorites for the title and with one of the greatest attacking potentials in the world, they basically decided the outcome of the game (24-30). In the last minutes, the hosts managed to decrease the gap but all in all, CSM’s victory was in no doubt in the last period of the game. CSM will take 6 points to the Main Round.
