Women’s EHF Champions League, Round 6

Group C

Larvik H –  FTC Rail Cargo Hungaria 21 – 30 (9 – 18)

Goals:

Larvik – Christensen 2, Tollbring 6, Rivas Toft 5, Hjertner 2, Løken 2, Wolff 1, Roth Berglie 1, Breistøl 1, Tamires 1

FTC – Pena 4, Kovacsics 5, Faluvégi 2, Snelder, Van der Heijden 4, Schatzl 6, Lukács 7, Hornyák 2, Hafra 1

Larvik needed at least one point in order to qualify to the Main Round in front of THC, meanwhile FTC arrived in Norway as already qualified, but having in their mind that if THC is eliminated they could lose four important points from their account.

FTC started well the match, leading 1-4, but Larvik managed to come back 7-8. From this point FTC sat a solid defense, Melinda Szikora showed an outstanding performance in the goal and ran away from hosts, finishing the first half with a huge advantage 9- 18.

In the second half, Larvik could not make the big difference to disappear, so FTC  won easily this important game, qualifying for the Main Round bringing 4 points with. Larvik is forced to continue in the EHF-Cup’s group stage.
