Before the match between Denmark and Montenegro, the Danish head-coach, Klavs Bruun- Jörgensen said to Ekstrabladet about the food the players are served: “There are some problems with the food we are served. If you are an organizer so you have to be aware of that these players need nourishment and is wrong to serve pork meat with fat and overcooked vegetables.”
Norway had similar experiences, even if the two teams are in two different cities, but Thorir Hergeirsson stated that they will discuss the problems with the right persons in order to find a solution, while team-captain Stine Oftedal said to tv2.no: “We are working on it, so on our free day, we are going out to eat a meal. Otherwise, we got regular meals, but we would like to have the best.”
“In my opinion, it is very pity to be at World Championship and to talk about that conditions for the players are not optimal. There are many matches in a short period of time, and I mean that is disrespectful that the fuel (food) for the players is not ok.” – said Bruun-Jörgensen to tv2.dk.
Denmark lost the game against Montenegro, team which newly changed their head coach, Per Johansson (SWE). He had also said his opinion on his twitter account:
“My Yugoslavians need only to have their coffee and cigarette in peace, so nobody is interested if the vegetables were cooked too long. Different cultures….”
