Norway opened strongly, leading 1-4 against Spain led by Nora Mørk scoring three and Katrine Lunde stopping the Spaniard attacks. Spain had also started to score, Martin and Barbosa were efficient, 4-7 for Norway. At the middle of the first half, a stronger period from the Norwegian girls made the difference increase 6-11 (19.minute), Mørk scoring her fifth goal in the match. Spain called a time-out and then they tried to defend differently by locking out Oftedal from the attacking play and they did it successfully by closing the gap significantly to 9-11. Martin, Pena, Barbosa, and Rodriguez were the goal scorers for Spain, meanwhile, Oftedal, Skogrand, Herrem scored beside Mørk. At the end of the first half Nora Mørk got her second 2-minute suspension, so Thorir Hergeirsson has to think differently for the next half. Halftime result: 10-13.
In the second half Norway started determined to get this victory, good working defense, Lunde had a good performance in the goal, Nora Mørk continued her goal-show in the attack, Oftedal, Arntzen, Kurtovic, Herrem, and Solberg helped her to increase the lead and Spain had just moments in this half, they could not stand against a well working Norwegian handball-machine. Norway got a clear victory: 23-31.
