In Main Round Group I in the EHF EURO 2018, Sweden met Belarus. Sweden took control of the game right in the first minutes. After 10 minutes played, their advantage could be called comfortable (9-4) and Andreas Palicka was performing very well in the Scandinavian goal. After 6 minutes without a Swedish goal, Belarus managed to decrease the gap to 2 goals (9-7) but in the last 10 minutes of the half, Sweden gained momentum and opened up the lead to 5 goals until the halftime whistle (16-11). In the first minutes of the second part, Sweden managed to stay focused and as the difference grew, the Belarussian chances were fading away (23-15). As the outcome was eventually decided in the middle of the second half, the only question remaining was if Belarus would be able to stay inside the 10 goals mark. In the end, the difference remained one digit, but all in all, Sweden gained two points confidently, without any troubles (29-20).
