Main Round
In the first match of the Main Round, CSM Bucuresti hosted the title holders. Győr had to play without Eduarda Amorim (hand fracture) and Anja Althaus (knee injury). The match started with a close fight, where both teams tried to grab the lead. Both Győr and CSM had a one-goal lead several times, but hosts got a two-goal advantage for the pause, 13-11. For Győr Tomori, Groot and Mörk were the main goalscorers, meanwhile, Bucuresti had Neagu, Kurtovic, and Hagman. In the second half, CSM had a smoother and more effective attacking play, Niombla, Neagu, Kurtovic, Hagman or Mehmedovic made all a good game. Ambros Martin had no players to replace with the first line, in addition, the Hungarian team made a lot of mistakes and turnovers. Goalkeeper performance at Győr’s side was on a lower level, neither Kiss or Grimsbö could help their team, on the other side Ungureanu had some better periods, stopping several Győr-attacks. At the end, CSM won the game with 28-22 against a weak performing Győri Audi ETO KC.
