Defending champions Győri Audi ETO KC were the first team to participate in the Media Call organized at one of the most popular places of Budapest, the Heroes Square. TimeOut Magazine talked to Stine Oftedal, Kari Aalvik Grimsbö and Bernadett Bódi before the big clashes this weekend. The team of Ambros Martín can’t count on Nora Mörk, Zsuzsanna Tomori and Jana Knedlikova in the biggest event of women’s club handball.

Stine Oftedal: This is going to be my first ever FINAL4 in my first ever Champions League season, so everything around this event is quite new for me. I am really excited about the matches ahead of us this weekend. We have played with CSM Bucuresti before so we know them well. There are fellow Norwegians on the opposite side as well – of course, we know each other’s strengths and weaknesses, but at this moment, we are putting this aside. We will fight hard as a team and we will do everything possible we can. Luckily, I feel 100% fit after my injury and we will have a complete team as much as possible – obviously excluding our long-term injuries.

Kari Aalvik Grimsbö: We haven’t shown our best form throughout this season, we had a lot of fights. Because of the injuries, we had to reboot ourselves many times over and over again. We know that our performance wasn’t too consistent during the season, but we kept fighting all the time and we will put our hearts on the court this time too. CSM is a very tough team but we are prepared and I am really looking forward to starting the matches. I am very pleased to be on the All-Star team and I want to thank the fans for all the votes. This is an extra for me and it motivates me in some way.

Bernadett Bódi: Everybody says Győr is expected to reach the FINAL4 easily every season and we have to be here no matter what, but this season proved that it is not as easy as said. We had to fight a lot with injuries, the circumstances and even with ourselves. We had to rebuild everything physically and mentally many times from the ashes, but we are working together as a team very well and we have become mentally stronger than before, we can fight a lot more. I know I am supposed to play 120 minutes during these 2 days – basically, I needed to prepare mentally for this. I will do everything I can to be able to handle it in the best way possible.
