Oftedal: “Amazing to win the Champions League in my first season”

A smiling Stine Bredal Oftedal says:

” It was a tough game, we need all our energies and a little bit extra to be able to get this victory. We had a good defense, but we missed a lot in offense and we had our dark periods through the match, but we are an amazing team, with a fantastic fighting spirit and we are able always to give a little more.

“I came to Győr at the beginning of this season to be able to play in the Champions League, to experience the EHF FINAL 4 and to win the title. Despite all the problems we had this season I managed to get all of these, which is really amazing feeling. This is the biggest you can achieve in the women club handball and now I had the chance to experience all of it.

“We have a team, which is a fantastic collective,  and we had always a player to add something to the match in order to get this victory.

“At our last attack, I lost the ball because it was passive play and I got insecure about passing the ball and I lost it. This can happen to everybody, but when it’s you then is really bitter feeling. I just prayed that Éva (the goalkeeper) could save that ball from Vardar and she did it. I actually went to her and said “thank you so much”

“I am looking forward to the last domestic matches and not least to the next season.
