Surprising Podravka win in Germany

In the first round of the EHF Champions League, German champions Thüringer HC faced Croatian qualifiers HC Podravka Vegeta in Germany. Podravka took an early lead in the beginning of the match and they were dealing quite well with their advantage as they managed to keep it during almost the whole first half. In the second half, the Germans were making far too many mistakes to turn the match around while the Croatians showed a better concentration in attack and a rough defense with many suspensions. Podravka’s win might be surprising, but they took the two points well-deservedly.
