Women’s EHF Champions League
Group C
Round 3
After a first half when THC could stay close to their opponents from Győr, and cause some trouble with a better offensive and defensive play (11-15), in the second half they had no chance to keep up with the CL-title holders. It must be very difficult for every team when they have to prepare against three of the worlds best goalkeepers and they don’t know which of them will play in this game. Today, Norwegian Kari Aalvik Grimsbö was defending the goal of Győr, with a fantastic performance, and against Kiss, THC lost two 7 meters in the first half. For the Hungarians Amorim, Oftedal, Fodor, Brattset or Kristiansen were as dangerous as Bódi, Hansen or Groot. THC’s best players in the attack were Luzumova, Triscsuk, Bölk, and Mazzucco, but this was not enough for the Germans. The team of Herbert Müller stays without points in the Group C of CL and has slight chances to collect so many points that allow them to advance to the next stage. In the last ten minutes of the game, head coach Danyi sent the youngsters Varga and Afentáler on the court also, and Győr defeated THC with a huge difference. Final result: 22 -38.
