Both Russia and Montenegro won their first matches, but in this encounter, it was the Montenegrins who started best and made Russia troubles during the first half. Led by Djurdina Jaukovic scoring 9 goals in the first half, Montenegro had the advantage all the time and Russians had not enough answers making Trefilov upset once again. Halftime: 13-15.

In the second half, the sharp race was continued, but Russia managed to equalize 17-18, 21-21 and to stay always close, even if Montenegro had always the slight advantage. The first time Russians took the lead was in the 58.minutes 23-22 (Sudakova), but Montenegro scored for a draw again 23-23. The winning goal was also scored by Sudakova 24-23 and despite Montenegrin ball-possession, in the last attack, they did not manage to score. With this victory, Russia is already trough to the Main Round.
