Group A
Macedonia seemed to not have problems against Japan, which plays with enormous speed in attack, but they had problems with the big Macedonian line-players in their defense. Head coach Gonzalez made his Macedonian team play almost the entire match with two line-players and seven field-players, without a goalkeeper. Japan operated with fast breaks, but this was not enough against a better opponent.
