Gabor Danyi, head coach of Győr:

“It was very special for me that we met a coach who was part of our lives until last year. It was a great honor for me to work with Ambros, but we had to put those emotions away today before the final.

” We wanted to play our own game, but the first half brought us in serious difficulties because Rostov made a very good start. We can be happy and I am very proud of my team and my staff. I would like to thank everyone for their support and of course for my players for their great performance ”

Ambros Martin, head coach-Rostov Don:

“We lost our heads in the last 10, 15 minutes of the first half. And when Győr take the lead, well, it is very hard to come back from there and take back the lead.

“However, I am very proud of what we achieved, the girls worked excellently and we built up a good team.

Kari Aalvik Grimsbö, goalkeeper – MVP of the event, Győri Audi ETO KC:

“There are very good goalkeepers next to me, and I’m really proud of how good we are togethter, we make a very good team inside the team.

”From the team’s point of view, it is not important who is in the goal to get good performance. My only goal was to prepare myself properly before the game, and if I get a chance to stay calm and be prepared for the task. I didn’t care much about who is on the other side, any team could have been on the other side because the final is always about being strong mentally. After the first fifteen minutes, we managed to tackle more, our defense improved, and I think this was the recipe for victory. ”

Lois Abbingh – leftback, Rostov Don:

“We were fighting for the last moment, and I think we can be really proud of the team spirit that characterized us this weekend. Unfortunately, in the first half, we should have been smarter to keep our advantage, but we made too simple mistakes. All in all, we can’t be dissatisfied with our season, and maybe another chance will come next season …”
