Surprising victory for Iceland against Denmark, Montenegrin win in Balcan-derby

Topscorers: Nemanja Grbovic (MNE) 6 goals and Lazar Kukic (SRB) 5 goals

Group E, Malmo

In the Scandinavian derby between Denmark and Iceland, a surprising Iceland led by Aron Palmarsson, scoring 10 goals, managed to defeat the biggest favorite of EHF EURO 2020 by one goal. During the second half, Iceland was mostly in lead, Denmark managed to level the game 30-30, 1 minute before the end, but Iceland took a slight victory, 30-31.

Denmark – Iceland 30 – 31 (15 – 15)

Topscorers: Mikkel Hansen (DEN) 9 goals and Aron Palmarsson (ISL) 10 goals
