Montenegro – Belarus 27 – 36 (11 – 17)

Topscorers: Vladan Lipovina (MNE) 5 goals and Mikita Vailupau (BLR) 7 goals

Group C, Trondheim

Germany was the main favorite here, they had an expected advantage in the pause, 11-16 and kept the difference in the second half also a while. But Latvia did not give up and led by Kristopans got back into the game, having real chances to earn a point here. It was close, but Germany won the match.

Latvia – Germany 27 – 28 (11 – 16)

Topscorers: Dainis Kristopans (LAT) 7 goals and Julius Kuhn (GER) 8 goals

MVP: Paul Drux (GER)

Group E, Malmo

Iceland did nothing else just played their fast and precise handball, running over Russia easily.

Iceland – Russia 34 – 23 (18 – 11)

Topscorers: Alexander Petterson and Sigvaldi Bjørn Gudjonsson(ISL) 6-6 goals and Gleb Kalarash (RUS) 6 goals

MVP: Viggo Kristjansson(ISL)
