Both Portugal and Sweden qualified to the Main Round with 0 points, therefore this encounter is vital for both teams. Two important points are set on play tonight. Sweden is on homecourt with more than 10000 Swedish fans in Malmö Arena.

The first half shows a tough game, 4-4 after ten minutes, but afterward, Portugal got a small gap, takin the lead 10-7, 13-10, 14-11. Sweden fought back, but this was not enough. Half time: 15-12. Ferraz, Salina, Silva are the main scorers for Portugal, Ekdhal du Rietz, A.Nilsson, L. Nilsson for Sweden.

In the second half it stopped totally up for Sweden, no goalkeeper play from Palicka and Appelgren, on the other side Quintana was outstanding, the Portuguese attack was phenomenal in every segment and they also had a good working defense. Portugal humiliated Sweden on their own homecourt, winning with a ten-goal difference.
