EHF EURO 2020
Final
Croatia started better and in a match of defenses and slow attacking play, they were in lead in the first half 7-10 (19.min). After a timeout from Ribera Perez de Vargas replaced Corrales (without any saving) and Maqueda came on rightback position too. This overturned the match as Perez de Vargas had a 70% percentage in this period and Maqueda scored 3 goals on a row, leveling the game for Spain. Croatia seemed very tired, fought, but Spain led 12-11 at the pause.
In the second half, Spain had the lead 16-12 after 5 minutes, but after this, they had an almost ten minutes scoring-break and Croatia got back in the match, 16-15, leveling the match at 18-18. Duvnjak, Stepanic, and Karacic led Croatians, meanwhile, Perez de Vargas, Entrerrios, Dujshebajev or Maqueda were decisive for the Spaniards.
Croatia managed to take the lead 18-19, but Spain equalized and tried to turn every single detail in their favor, winning the match 22-20 at the end.
