
With a quality squad, the newly founded CSKA Moscow club is already in the DELO Women EHF Champions League group phase, but the lack of experience may not be on their side. They finished third in the Russian league, behind Rostov-Don and Lada, will make their debut in the CL. The team is coached by Denmark’s Jan Leslie, who also worked at Rostov Don in the past. Seven players left the team and six others, including the 2016 Olympic champions Anna Sedoykina and Marina Sudakova, have joined CSKA in the summer. The roster includes players with international experience like Chana Masson, Daria Dmitrieva, Ekaterina Ilina, Sabina Jacobsen, or Jovana Ristovska.
