
SG BBM Bietigheim has qualified to the DELO Women EHF Champions League as the second German team and there were changes in the squad and headcoach position. New coach Markus Gaugisch succeeded Dane Martin Albertsen, who is now the director of the Swiss women’s youth handball academy and remains the Switzerland women’s national team coach. For Gaugisch, Bietigheim is the first top women’s team, after coaching the men’s Bundesliga teams Neuhausen and Balingen.
Three players who left the club moved to Hungary, Malestein to FTC, van der Heijden, and Eckerle to Siófok. Stang Sando will replace Eckerle in the goal and two Danish national team players have also arrived: Stine Jørgensen and Trine Østergaard. Xenia Smits will be also a big reinforcement on left-back position.
