CSM Bucuresti entered the stage with a victory against Metz

CSM Bucuresti started the DELO Women EHF Champions League’s first round on home court hosting Metz Handball. The French side had a huge transfer activity during the summer, not less than eight players left and were replaced by newcomers.

CSM Bucuresti missed only Dragana Cvijic, still in recovery after a knee surgery and made a great start against the French champion, leading by seven goals after the first half and won the match comfortably, without any emotions. Cristina Neagu showed her good-old herself, making the game and scoring easily, Jelena Grubisic had a great performance in the goal, but CSM had a good defense and despite the mistakes they made looked promising. On the other side, Metz had problems to find their game and pace, and even headcoach Mayonnade looked helpless facing the Romanian storm.
