Silje Solberg can’t reach the start of the EHF EURO 2020

The experienced Norwegian goalkeeper, Silje Solberg ha been tested positive for covid19 in the middle of November in Győr and she was in quarantine since. Solberg was tested again on the beginning of this week and she is still positive, but out of isolation. However if she cannot deliver a negatív test than she is not allowed to travel in to Denmark and she has to go through a medical check in Hungary before she can start the workouts.

Norway will play the opening match against Poland next weekend, and Solberg will not be there for sure. If she gets a negative test later this week so she can join the squad afterwards.

“When I first tested positive, my first taught was that I will miss the EURO. Some of my teammates in Győr get their first negatív tests after three and a half weeks. If I’m having the same scenario than it looks quiet bad for me ” – said Silje Solberg to tv2.dk..

“Even if I test negative still there are many things has to be done. We keep hearing since March about the possible complication and damages the covid19 could make in one’s body, and I think that my body has to be in shape to tolerate such amount of work. I am just trying to take this day by day and if I’ll be able to play this December so I will take as a bonus. “- continues Silje Solberg.

Norway had six goalkeepers in the 35 players squad: Katrine Lunde-Vipers (pregnant), Silje Solberg – Győri Audi ETO KC (covid19 positive), Emily Stang Sando – Bietigheim (out of quarantine at the club after 4 days), Andrea Austmo Pedersen – Vipers (injured ), Rikke Granlund – Team Esbjerg (0 matches at the national team or a championship) and Marie Davidsen – THC (0 matches with the NT). Right n4the situ4is that Emily Stang Sando and Rikke Marie Granlund will be two goalkeepers starting the EHF EURO 2020 for Norway, Davidsen us also with the team in Denmark. If Silje Solberg gets ready for play so she can also join.
