Denmark started the EURO with the match against Slovenia and had a 14-9 lead, but Slovenia closed the gap and the halftime result was 14-12. Anne Mette Hansen, Lærke Pedersen and Trine Østergaard were very efficient for the Danes, meanwhile Ana Gros, Natasa Ljepolja kept Slovenian hopes alive.

In the second half Slovenia could not cause any problems for Denmark, the hosts winning comfortably 30-23.
